Hello Lakewood Rangers!
We’ve all lived through joys and sorrows, and traveled many paths since those formative days at Lakewood High, and it’s time to unite in our common bond. We are Rangers!!! All LHS graduates of 1973 are invited to attend the celebration of our 40th anniversary this August 16 and 17, 2013.
It wouldn’t be a reunion without a visit to Around the Corner! Meet up there beginning at 7 pm on Friday, August 16th, and enjoy a casual visit with classmates. The bar, owned by LHS’70 grad Mickey Krivosh, is located at 18616 Detroit Avenue, where you should be able to find street or lot parking. We’ll be in the Warehouse Room to the right off the main room. Hope to see you there!
During the day on Saturday, August 17th, we are offering both a walking tour of the high school and a Lolly the Trolley tour of highlights of Lakewood. The high school tour will begin at 10 am and interested participants should meet in the L-Room – no need to make reservations or payment. The Lolly the Trolley tour will run for 1 1/2 hour and will be a great chance for those who have not been back to Lakewood for a while to see many of the developments in town. We plan to run two Lolly tours, at 10 am and at 11:30 pm, and the cost will be $10 per person. Those who reserve seats will get further details as the day approaches. To enable us to reserve the Trolley, we need your reservation and payment by July 1st, 2013. If we do not obtain enough reservations for the Lolly tour, we will notify you and will return your payment at the evening reunion event. See the Registration page to arrange payment. We cannot reveal the name at this time, but we are hoping for a celebrity narrator to accompany the tour!
And now for the main event! Perhaps we were feeling nostalgic, perhaps we were swayed by reasonable dinner prices, perhaps we liked the idea of a large, free parking lot, who knows, but we are happy to tell you that the evening reunion celebration will be held at Wagner’s Country Inn, located at 30855 Center Ridge Road in Westlake. Our event runs from 6-11 pm. Look for the purple and gold balloons outside the East Ballroom and come on inside at 6 pm for cocktail hour at our own personal cash bar. We’ll be playing the tunes you remember – and possibly hoped you’d never hear again – until it’s time for a buffet dinner that should include something for everyone. A new addition to the reunion will be a short program around 8:30 that will draw us together with shared memories. Then the dance tunes will come out and more time to relax and enjoy it all! The cost for each attendee will be $45 for reservations and payment received by July 1st, 2013, and $50 for reservations and payment received between July 1st and August 10th.
